1.     Identify the following regarding the legal justification for a frisk:

 

a.  The justification needed to stop the suspect.

b.  The further justification needed for a frisk of a detained person and/or vehicle.

 

2.     Identify the following regarding the legal scope of a frisk:

 

a.  The general scope of a frisk of a detained person and/or vehicle (where and for what).

b.  The circumstances under which a “plain feel” seizure of contraband or evidence is legal.

c.  When a container may be searched for weapons during a frisk.

d.  What an officer can do while detaining a suspect with a container when a frisk of the container does not seem reasonable.
